January 17, 2012 Medics were transporting a human heart to a hospital in Mexico City when one of the medics stumbled and the plastic-wrapped heart tumbled out of a cooler onto the street. Doctors in are now waiting to see if a heart transplant was successful, despite the organ being dropped on the ground.
Wow! I’ve heard of people getting citations from the police, but this is the first time I’ve heard of somebody going to jail over a messy yard! The problem began in 2008 when the economy hit South Carolina photographer Linda Ruggles’ business hard. Her roof project came to a halt, stacks of shingles sat on her roof for years and her yard began to fill-up with junk metal she collected for spare cash. The town finally fined her in December 2010, but she refused to pay the fine, so they jailed her in January 2012!
January 13, 2012 There are different theories on how Friday the 13th came to be and as far as I can find out it may be based largely to The Last Supper. Judas {the apostle who betrayed Jesus} was the 13th person to arrive at the last supper making 13 an unlucky number on any day of the week; then add in the fact that Jesus died on a Friday, and Friday the 13th most likely gets its bad rap. In fact, as the superstition goes, if you sit 13 at a dinner table, one will die within the year! OMG
It’s hard to believe that a year has already gone by from when the nation was captivated by the story of a homeless man… with the Golden Voice.

January 11, 2012 Hostess Brands filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy on Wednesday. That's right! The company that makes Twinkies and Ding Dongs, and Ho Hos, and Cupcakes, and Zingers, and Suzy Q's, and Mini Muffins is broke! It's not our fault! Brian and I have done our part to help keep the company afloat over the years!
January 7, 2012 A cow named T-bone was rescued from an icy pond in Southeast Fort Collins last night. When crews pulled the 14-year-old Hereford cow from the water, he was suffering from hypothermia and shock. The family pet had fallen down a 25-foot embankment into the water at Kechter Road and the I-25 Frontage Road. T-bone was stuck in the water for more than 5 hours.

January 5, 2012 Some people in our business will read anything! We used to have a DJ that would read anything you put in front of her. We would write things in the middle of her weather forecast, just to see if she would read it. That recently happened to a news anchor at a TV station in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
