As a police officer, I'd assume you have to be ready for just about anything, but I am also quite certain that most cops don't plan to chase a criminal in a river. That happened in Greeley today (June 27).
You expect to hear about earthquakes in San Francisco and parts of Alaska, but until recently I thought that was one of the natural disasters we least had to fear in Northern Colorado. May 31st Greeley was struck by a magnitude 3.4 tremor, and got shook by a 2.6 magnitude quake yesterday (June 23).
Just last year I made the joke that it wouldn't be too much longer before people started staking out their spots with tarps and blankets for the Greeley Stampede’s July 4th Parade a month early. At least in some spots, spots won't be staked out early at all this year.
The Colorado Department of Transportation is conducting a study to establish a vision for the US 85 corridor from I-76 to the Town of Nunn. CDOT will hold a series of public meetings with an open house format where you can drop by anytime to discuss the study with the CDOT Project team.
