I always knew this day would come but that doesn't make it any easier to say goodbye. This Friday will be the end of a radio career that no one could have ever imagined. It has been such an honor to be invited into your homes and vehicles and wherever you had K99 cranked up.
We are a little over a week away from the big Habajeeba Show. Next Friday night at the UCCC in Greeley is going to be a very special evening and the finale of an amazing career here at K99. I promise you a great night of fun, music and memories made.
You will encounter stress and difficulty today. That is just a cold hard fact. What you do with it and how you handle it is one of the keys to being happy. We all want happy and by adding one little thing to your daily routine, it may make that an easier goal to attain.
You know those insurance commercials where they show the guys who are turning into their fathers? I laugh every time I see those because I can see the truth in it and find myself slowing doing it. I find myself being that old guy who talks about how things used to be...but I am right darn it.
One week from today will mark the 12th anniversary of one of the most terrifying days of my life. It was a day I will never forget and glad I won't because it is one I need to remember. It was 12 years ago January 21st that I had a heart attack and thought this beautiful life of mine was going to end.
As I wind down my radio career I have certainly have had a lot of noise in my brain lately. There is so much to think about and consume my head that I have sure needed to find some thoughts to ground me a bit. Here are a few that got me through as I share my final edition of Weekly Words of Wisdom. Go be you...the world needs what you bring.
There are few better ways to start the day than with a little Merle. I think it should be a daily requirement to listen to at least one Haggard tune each day to put you in the right frame of mind. Cody Johnson even has a song on his new album called 'Monday Morning Merle' in which he sings the same sentiment I just spoke of.
