The 90th Annual Greeley Stampede doesn't officially get underway until this coming Friday, June 22nd, but the folks at the Stampede have a little warm up for us tonight. The Stampede Arena at Island Grove Regional Park will be filled with dirt, but not for rodeo. Monster trucks, a motorcycle stuntman, atv racing and tuff trucks all take center stage in Greeley tonight!
When I was a kid I can remember my family always making the comment “I wish I had half as much energy as that kid.” I always got annoyed by it thinking that they were just lazy, and if they really wanted to they could get off the couch and run around in circles and bounce off the walls with me. Now that I have kids of my own I realize that their energy level really is through the roof and people weren’t kidding when they made those comments! I am always looking for creative ways to burn the kid’s energy, and this weekend it’s a no-brainer! Jr. JAM! The day where it’s fun to be a kid.

June 13, 2012 I am ALL IN for June 30th! It's the 2nd annual Summer Series Poker/Toy Run to benefit Santa Cops of Weld and Larimer county and also the High Park Fire. All toys collected go to Santa Cops and 100% of ALL registration fees and money collected through June 30th will be used to replant trees lost due to the High Park Fire.
I can remember a time not too long ago when there were two or three restaurants or bars in Downtown Greeley that were worth going to. In recent years the downtown area has cleaned up and added many great business. Now the area has become the first in the state to allow you to take your alcohol to go as well. Tonight, the new law goes into effect and to help celebrate, the Friday Fest kickoff concert is tonight as well.
June 6, 2012 I had mentioned last week that Journey 4 Justice would have an entry for the Greeley Stampede but upon further review we decided the event should reflect the Sleigh Riders as a way of saying thanks to the thousands of you who have supported this great charity since 2006.

Live music from 'Audible Click' tonight along with drink/food specials, prizes and much more. I will kick off the live broadcast tonight at 5pm and festivities start at 6pm with a pre-ride leaving from TMHD at 5:30pm.
June 6, 2012 It's hard to find events that are pet friendly these days. In fact, most events want you to leave your dogs at home! Not the Larimer Humane Society! Dogs are welcome, even encouraged, to attend the 22nd annual Fire Hydrant 5 on Saturday at Edora Park.
June 6, 2012 The Virginia Dale Overland Stage Station is celebrating its 150th birthday this weekend with a 3-day event. The station itself was built in 1862. It served as “home” station where passengers could stop, rest and get a meal. It is the only stage station left in the U.S. in its original condition on it's original sight. The celebration this weekend is meant to be a fundraiser to help stabilize and restore the original building.
June 5, 2012 Well, it's as official as official gets! The Sleigh Riders Motorcycle Toy Run, Inc. is now a fully tax exempt 501(c)(3) charitable organization. Who would have thought when 300+ showed up in 2006 that we would be where we are today! Thank YOU ALL!
