I will never forget the 2002 Olympics in Salt Lake City. I have always loved the Olympics since I was a child but in 2002 I felt a connection that will never leave me. I got to carry the actual Olympic flame through the town of Berthoud. It was one of the greatest honors of my life.
I hear people complain all the time that they are not hearing enough "country" in their country music. They must not be looking because it is there and it is awesome! I admit there is a lot of pop sounding country but country has always evolved and will continue to do so.
This summer is going to be rocking in Cheyenne when Toby Keith and his tour roll back into the area. There are few spectacles like a Toby show and I am sure Cheyenne and Toby fans from all over the region will be getting their country on come July 27th when Toby takes the stage.
I honestly had not heard of this man or this moment until I was at the Country Radio Seminar in Nashville last week but it hasn't left my mind since.This story inspired me and has left an impact that you will feel once you watch this video.
I have just returned from a great trip to Nashville for the Country Radio Seminar. I always come back renewed and fired up to hit the microphone. It is a great event with a lot of useful education and a whole lot of music and festivities celebrating the country music industry and radio.
