There are some songs that will live forever in country music. One of those all time classics is celebrating a big anniversary today. It was on this date in 1987 that the Randy Travis smash "Forever and Ever, Amen" began a 3 week stint on top of the charts.
It was 25 years ago today that Martina McBride jumped from behind the counter selling t-shirts to getting on the big stage for her first major tour debut and it happened right in our backyard and I was there. I will never forget that show. It was one of, if not the best concert I have seen.
I have been fortunate to be in the music business for a long long time now and have seen many records broken and things that have happened for the first time in history. There is nothing like accomplishing something that no one else has ever done. There is no way to take that away.
It doesn't matter what kind of music you claim to love, you know Hank Williams Jr. I was a dyed in the wool rocker and rebel in high school and you would hear the sounds of Van Halen, Kiss, Waylon and Hank Jr blasting out of my car speakers. Everyone loved and respected Hank and his vibe.
