In preparation to reprise her iconic Cinnabon-hairstyled role in the upcoming "Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens," producers asked Carrie Fisher to lose over 35 pounds.

"They don't want to hire all of me - only about three-quarters," Fisher told Good Housekeeping UK for their January issue. "I'm in a business where the only thing that matters is weight and appearance. That is so messed up. ... They might as well say get younger, because that's how easy it is."

This isn't the first time Fisher has been told to lose weight to play Princess Leia.

Fisher memorably wore a barely-there metal bikini as Jabba the Hutt's slave in 1983's "Return of the Jedi," for which she was asked to shed 10 pounds - lowering her total weight to just 95 pounds.

"We treat beauty like an accomplishment, and that is insane," said Fisher. "Everyone in LA says, 'Oh you look good,' and you listen for them to say you've lost weight. It's never 'How are you?' or 'You seem happy!'"

Fisher lost 50 pounds on the Jenny Craig diet in 2011 and temporarily served as the company's celebrity spokeswoman. However, she attributes eating less and exercising more to her 35-pound loss for 'The Force Awakens.'

The same time Fisher's Good Housekeeping interview was released, 'The Force Awakens' director J.J. Abrams expressed his goal to make the Star Wars franchise less of a boys' club.

"'Star Wars' was always a boys' thing and a movie that dads take their sons to, and though that's still very much the case, I was really hoping this could be a movie that mothers could take their daughters to as well," Abrams told Good Morning America on Monday.

'The Force Awakens' hits theatres December 18.
