I am a movie freak. I love going to movies, watching them at home, talking about them, doing movie trivia and eating popcorn. I am not a huge fan of the Academy Awards though. They have a much different set of criteria of what makes a film good than I do. I want to be entertained or moved. It seems like the pictures that win the big awards move me but it is to the exit.

Sunday night 'Birdman' was the big winner at the Oscars. It was named picture of the year. I watched 'Birdman'...it was awful. I don't get it. It was one of the those movies where when it ends you stare at the screen and wonder what the heck you just saw and how you can get your two hours back. I kept waiting for something entertaining to happen and it never did. I walked out on the movie twice and I was even at home. It was cold outside too. I wanted to find something to like about it because I like Michael Keaton and Ed Norton but this was just a weird piece of cinematic dung. I have no clue how this won the best picture award. Am I the only one who thought 'Birdman' was bird crap?
