I had lunch with a friend the other day. We always talk about getting together for lunch but it seems to only happen about twice a year. Why do we do that? We get so busy that we think we don’t have time to do things we enjoy. Make the time. Human face to face interaction is so important and something we seem to be doing less and less of. How many times have you talked to friend and said “we need to get together sometime” and you never do? We always make time for kids athletics, work and chores but not enough time with friends.

I always make fun of my morning partner Todd Harding because he is the exception to this. He always finds time to get together. I wish I was more like him in this way…and this way alone. Todd and his wife Jenny are the kind of people who if you say “we should get together for dinner sometime” will whip out the calendar and have you pick a date right there. I make fun of him for this but it is so smart.I know one time they were visiting with someone from Brazil who made the mistake of saying, “if you’re ever in Brazil look us up and stay at our place.” Well guess who went to Brazil the next year? Be careful what to say when talking to him.

I am going to take a page from the book of Todd and start getting together with my friends more often. We need those times together. Make a dinner date, schedule a lunch or better yet, plan a game night and have a few couples over. Who wants to come over and play Wii bowling?
