Brian’s Blog; The Supper Lottery

I was raised in a family where dinner time was a time when the whole family got together. I believe that a lot of the world’s problems would go away if all families gathered for dinner. It gives you a chance to talk about the day and life in general. What a great way to stay involved in each other’s lives and get a full belly at the same time. We all have busy schedules but try to do this at least a few nights a week.

Now anytime you get my family together for dinner you will get disagreements on what to have for supper. I have created a fun game we play when we can’t come to an agreement on what to chow down on. The game is called Supper Lottery. We all get 5 blank pieces of paper and write down an Idea for supper on each one. We then put them in a hat and pull them out one at a time. The last one drawn is what we have for dinner. We always enjoy it and it’s always fun seeing what everyone else was thinking of eating. When I win I try to play the power ball and get a DQ dessert out of it too.

With the winter storm moving in, tonight might be a great night to start the new old tradition of having dinner together as a family. Sit down and get to know each other again. You may just win the lottery.
