Brett Eldredge has had an enormously successful couple of years, but this new honor takes the cake. The singer-songwriter has been added to the CMA's board of directors.

The new appointments to the Country Music Association's board of directors will be effective beginning Jan. 1, 2015. Eldredge is newly elected in the Artist category, joining Karen Fairchild from Little Big Town, who will be a carryover director serving the second year of a two-year term.

Current CMA board President Frank Bumstead will replace Ed Hardy as chairman of the CMA Board, while John Esposito, president and CEO of Warner Music Nashville, will become president. Sally Williams, vice president of business and partnership development at the Ryman Auditorium, has been named president-elect, and Jessie Schmidt, president of Schmidt Relations, returns as secretary/treasurer of the CMA Board.

Nashville power broker Joe Galante, songwriter Jim Beavers, producer Mark Bright, Universal Nashville head Mike Dungan and more have also been elected to the board.

“This is a very exciting time to be President of the CMA Board of Directors,” Esposito says in a press release. “The Association is especially strong as we enter 2015 with the unequalled success of our core initiatives and clearly defined strategic objectives with the resources, professional staff, and Board support to make them a reality. The future is promising and I am looking forward to serving the industry alongside Frank Bumstead and Sally Williams.”
