After a several hour-long standoff with Fort Collins police, SWAT, and Larimer County Sheriff's Office near Kmart at Drake and College. the suspect is safely in custody.

Police were in negotiations with a potentially suicidal vehicle occupant holding a pink gun to her head, per scanner reports. The woman was on the phone with law enforcement during the incident.

Kmart went on lockdown, while patrons and employees at nearby Cricket and Larkburger were evacuated at approximately 11:20 a.m.

College Avenue remains closed, and MAX Rapid Transit quit running between Drake and University.

A source at the scene told the Coloradoan the woman has a felony warrant on stolen property valued at over $2,000.

According to Jiffy Lube employees AJ Moffett and David Turnquist, the driver in a white truck calmly entered the southwest corner of the parking lot and crashed into a police vehicle, which they believed tried to stop her. Police and SWAT vehicles arrived within 5 minutes, they said. The employees say they witnessed the woman pointing the pink gun at herself and at officers, however, officers have not indicated she has pointed the gun at them.
