BREAKING: Historic Windsor Mill Goes Up in Flames Sunday Morning
Just before 2 a.m. on Sunday, August 6, the old mill on Main Street in downtown Windsor, which was under renovation, went up in flames that appeared to be hundreds of feet high.
Windsor Severance Fire Rescue responded to the call at 301 Main Street with the help of ‘Front Range Fire Rescue, Loveland Fire Rescue, Poudre Fire Authority, Eaton Fire Rescue, Berthoud Fire, UC Health EMS, Weld County Sheriff, Weld County Communications, Windsor Police Department, Windsor Public Works, and Xcel Energy,’ according to this Facebook post:
They say Main Street will be closed for most of Sunday as they continue to fight the blaze. There is no known cause yet.

The building has not only been an iconic part of Windsor’s downtown scenery, but it also became ‘that building that got hit by the tornado’ in 2008. For nearly the last decade it has sat partially destructed, until news came about that it would fixed up and given new life.
These are our neighbors here at the station, and this makes us pretty sad, but hopefully no one was injured.
