The Blue Knights Colorado IX of Greeley will be hosting a fundraiser and poker run this Saturday to honor those who have lost their lives in the line of duty and will donate all monies to the Colorado chapter of C.O.P.S.

Last year, Colorado had 6 Fallen Heroes, and this ride is for them, their families and everyone who want to support local law enforcement. The poker run will be this Saturday, June 22nd and benefits the Colorado chapter of Concerns Of Police Survivors, or C.O.P.S.

Registration stars at 9:30 AM at Wild West Motorsports (3010 W. 29th St) in Greeley and ends at The New Plantation in Evans. Prizes for 1st, 2nd & 3rd place hands plus some great door prizes and even a live auction. All vehicles are welcomed and encouraged to attend.

So who are the Blue Knights?

In the Spring of 1974, a small handful of law enforcement officers from Bangor, Maine met and soon formed a small, local motorcycle club. It wasn't long before others formed chapters in Massachusetts and New Hampshire and it then went worldwide with the addition of Canada and Australia making the Blue Knights an international organization.

In December 2009 they became the largest motorcycle club in the world with 635 chapters, 20,490 members in 29 countries and have raised over $13 million dollars for their communities.  Some of their favorites charities to help include, but are not limited to Make-a-Wish Foundation, Toys for Tots,  D.A.R.E., and Concerns of  Police Survivors.
