It seems the crazier the deals, the closer we get to calling it "yellow tape" Friday.

Another lunatic just couldn't let ANYONE else get a deal at Wal-Mart in the San Fernando Valley of California.

The New York Times and CBS News are reporting about the incident that happened Thursday night.

Shopping was to start at 10pm last night at the Wal-Mart,  with a great deal on XBox gaming consoles. So, imagine a big stack of them on a pallet all wrapped in plastic.

Well.. folks just couldn't wait apparently for another 5 minutes.

From the CBS News story:

Alejandra Seminario, told the Times she was waiting in line to buy toys about 9:55 p.m. when there was a commotion in the next aisle when shoppers began tearing off plastic encasing gaming consoles.

"People started screaming, pulling and pushing each other, and then the whole area filled up with pepper spray," she said.

I guess you can't be too safe when it comes to what the police are calling "competitive shopping".

Next thing you know, 20 people- including a few kids- were exposed to a least a little bit of pepper spray... Happy freaking Holidays.

Cesar Seminario, who got to the cash register 20 minutes later with a Wii gaming console and some Barbie dolls, told the Times the air was still smelling of pepper spray. "After we paid, we saw five [people] that were in really bad shape," she said. "They had been sprayed in the face, it looked like, and they had swelling of the face, really extreme swelling of face, redness, coughing."

I love how that guy wasn't about let some pepper spray ruin his bargain hunting binge.  Keep the faith, Cesar!

Just imagine this woman who set off the chaos on Christmas Day, when her children are opening their presents... she'll think to herself.. "I earned that toy... earned it!"

Can we all just make a deal? How about, that if you can't handle the absolute nuts-craziness of an over-busy store on Black Friday without losing your cool and pepper-spraying everybody.. .stick to online shopping.

Fair enough?

Great.
