I have no problem admitting that I am a Billy Ray Cyrus fan. I have loved his voice and music from the first time I heard the album 'Some Gave All'. Billy is blowing out the candles on his birthday cake today and I thought he deserved some Colorado love on his big 55th birthday.

There are many uneducated country fans who consider Billy Ray Cyrus a one hit wonder. Billy actually has had quite an impressive string of hits in spite of much of the public’s perception. You often hear many make fun of the mullet. Billy’s mullet has been gone for years but when he wore it he wore it at a varsity level.

The phenom of “Achy Breaky Heart” was unlike anything I had ever experienced in my career. People could not get enough of the song. We could play it on the air and then play it again right after and no one would care. That song started a dance floor revolution that brought line dancing into the mainstream. He did a lot for our format in the early 90’s and doesn’t get the credit he deserves. I remember seeing him on the Some Gave All Tour. The show was sold out and he had only released one single. That was an amazing feat.

He went on to have a great acting career on the show Doc and most recently the new show 'Still the King' and also went on to have a rather famous daughter named Miley.

Here is proof that he is more than a one hit wonder. Billy Ray has had 7 top 10 hits and 12 top 40 hits. That is a lot more than one. Here is a 6 pack of some of my favorites from Mr. Cyrus.
