Miley Cyrus may be the Cyrus we hear about in the news all the time these days but there was a time when her daddy was all the rage in the music scene. Billy Ray never had to ride a wrecking ball or get buck naked to get attention. All he had to do was dance a little goofy and have a horrible mullet..but hey, we all did back then.

Hard to believe it was 24 years ago today that Billy Ray Cyrus exploded onto the music scene. In 1992, when he put out his debut album "Some Gave All" featuring the ground breaking single "Achy Breaky Heart" he blew up like no artist I had seen in my career. There are so many people who claim they don't like him but about 10 million people own that debut album.

I am one who can honestly say it is one of my favorite country albums of all time. Billy Ray doesn't get the credit he deserves for making some great music and this record is flat out awesome. From the opening cut "Could've Been Me" to the final cut "Some Gave All", this is a great piece of work. "Wher'm I Gonna Live", "These Boots Are Made For Walking" and so many other great songs are on this bad boy.

Happy 24rd anniversary to one of the my all time favorite albums. I will be going home to listen and relive the phenomenon today.
