St. Patrick's day has to be one of my favorite holidays because I honestly don't know the real meaning for it, I use it as an excuse to drink green beer and eat a ton of food. Along with the beer and the food come a lot of other great things in Fort Collins.

This year the parade gives us an extra day to celebrate St Patty's because it happens the day before the actual holiday. The parade begins at 10:00am on Walnut Ave (North side of Old Town Sq.). The route is North on Walnut, turns south on College Ave and travels in the south bound lanes until making a left on Magnolia. The last stretch of the parade will be north along Remington Ave. until it connects with Mountain again! The parade is FREE to the public and open to all!

The Irish Party in Old Town Square -

From 10:00am to 5:00pm enjoy an Irish Party with great live Irish music and green beers in Old Town Square.

Burn a few of those green beers calories off on Saturday the 16th. The 15th Annual  Sharin’ O’ The Green, 5k run/walk and kids fun run will be back at the old location at Library Park. Odell Brewing Company has generously donated a pint for every participant that is of age. This year after the race, you can head to Old Town Square to trade your bib for a beer.

If you are just in the mood for a green beer check out Fort Collins' Irish themed bars...
