When the snow comes down, where do you go sledding in Fort Collins?

There aren't that many places that have a respectable enough slope to gain much speed, but they do exist. In some areas, the City of Fort Collins places hay bales around obstacles.

City Park

The hill at City Park allows you to gain some speed while still having plenty of time to stop before you run into any obstacles. There are definitely some trees at the bottoms of the hill, but they are so sparse that they are pretty easy to avoid.

Disc Golf Course by Hughes Stadium

There are a few good little slopes near the Stadium formerly known as Hughes. Soon, the view will change so any photos taken of kids, young and old, will have a sentimental value if they have the old stadium in the background.

Pineridge Natural Area

There is actually an area that is designated for sledding here.

Fossil Creek Park

The hill above the softball fields, playground and skate park at Fossil Creek Park in Fort Collins has some spots where sledders can find trouble, but there are also plenty of places where it can be done safely.
