Best Place for Star Gazing in Rocky Mountain National Park [PICTURES]
Former CSU professor Ralph Smith is not only a brilliant scientist, he is also an amazing photographer, who owns Green Drake Photography. He is a friend and mentor of my wife, Jenny. He recently visited Bear Lake in Rocky Mountain National Park in hopes a getting a few good shots of the Milky Way. I would say, "Mission accomplished" Dr. Smith.
There are a ton of great places for star gazing in Rocky Mountain National Park. Bear Lake may be the best.
The trail that loops around Bear Lake, following the shoreline, is one of the most popular trails in Rocky Mountain National Park, year round. Frequent benches and resting places are provided, with lots of opportunities for mountain peak views and great for star gazing.
