Forget the pains of being at the bar, and having to wait to get a beer! The pain of waving a server down. The pain of knowing the server has your order, but they have to stop at table 8 to drop off a check, first. The pain of seeing your beer, frosty and ready to be delivered and consumed, but now your server is chatting it up over at table 12!

You just want that beer! Now!

With this new system, the only pain will be trying to figure out how much to tip yourself!

This could very well be the best thing to hit drinking establishments, since that thing that gauges how hard you can throw a punch! Pouring your own beer!

The basics: At an establishment that uses the IPourIt system, you can walk right up to the taps and pour a beer! The details: Before you can do so, you need to open up a tab and get your ‘wristband’. You ‘swipe’ your wristband at the given tap- and then you can pour. By swiping, the technology in the wristband will keep track of exactly how much beer you’re pouring, and whose tab it goes on.

The establishment’s management can set up a limit on how much you’ll be able to pour, before having to talk with them and resetting it. This way you’re not over-serving yourself.

How great is that? No waiting! The system can also keep track of all the different beers you poured/drank, so you can keep a ‘log’ of the ones you liked and didn’t like.

IPourit is currently used in 39 locations across 39 states in the U.S. There are two places in Colorado: Jackson’s in Greenwood Village (south Denver) and at Union Station’s Nativ Hotel in downtown Denver. Another will soon go in at a taphouse in Denver.

Imagine, with all the new small breweries always popping up in Northern Colorado, how well this could work! The owner/brewer could be at the main bar talking with new customers, giving them the details on their crafted beers, while regulars come in and use the IPourIt taps!

Speaking with them on the phone, they are just waiting for establishments in Northern Colorado to give them a call and get setup!

For now, we’ll just have to wait… for our beer.
