One of the last pieces of the World Trade Center, a five foot long 3,000 pound steel beam will be calling Fort Collins home soon. Poudre Valley Fire Authority will be taking possession of the beam next week during a ceremony with New York area emergency crews.

Four of the PFA firefighters that were involved in the September 11th rescue efforts will be bringing the beam back and over 100 emergency agencies will aid in the escort from New York to Colorado.

You'll be able to follow the beam's journey at this site and the hashtag #PoudreFireWTCBeam, and finishing up with a ceremony on October 24th in Fort Collins for the beam's placement at a PFA fire station.
