Loveland police are searching for a suspect who shot a Loveland police officer last night. The officer is in intensive care at an area hospital.

It happened while the officer was doing a traffic stop by Safeway around 7:50 p.m. The officer shot back at the suspect and was able to radio for help.

At around 9:30 p.m. police made what they called a high-risk traffic stop on North Wilson Avenue, reportedly taking two people into custody. It’s not known yet if they are suspects in the shooting.
