Rockies Top Nationals In 11 Inning Slugfest

After taking an early 7-0 lead yesterday in Denver, the Colorado Rockies (29-46) needed extra innings to top the Washington Nationals (43-31) 11-10, and earn a split in the 4-game series. Marco Scutaro delivered the walk-off 11th inning hit for Colorado. The Rockies open a weekend series against the San Diego Padres (28-49)tonight at 6:10 at Coors Field (TV: Root Sports).

Nationals Rout Rockies 11-5

The debut of the Colorado Rockies' (28-46) newest addition, left-hander Edwar Cabrera, did not go well as he was hit hard last night by the visiting Washington Nationals (43-30), en route to an 11-5 Nationals win. It was Cabrera's first MLB action. The final matchup of the four-game series is this afternoon at 1:10 at Coors Field (TV: none).

Four Washington Homers Bury Rockies 12-5

The Colorado Rockies (28-45), owners of the highest team ERA in baseball, saw it climb further last night after losing to the visiting Washington Nationals (42-30) 12-5 in Denver. The loss came on the day that 10-year Colorado pitching coach Bob Apodaca stepped down. Game 3 of the four game series is tonight at 6:40 at Coors Field (TV: Root Sports).

On the hottest night in Coors Field's 20-year history (100 degrees at game time), the Colorado Rockies (28-44) cooled down one of the hottest teams in baseball by beating the visiting Washington Nationals (41-30) 4-2 last night in Denver. Rockies Return To Denver After 4-2 Loss At Texas

The Colorado Rockies (27-44) ended their 2012 interleague schedule with a 4-2 loss at the Texas Rangers (45-28) last night. Alex White gave up four runs in three innings, and Colorado was unable to score until a ninth inning rally that came up short. The Rockies return home to open a three-game series tonight against the Washington Nationals (41-29) at 6:40 at Coors Field (TV: Root Sports).

Official ‘High Park Fire’ Information [UPDATED 11:18am]

The High Park Fire, first reported June 9th fifteen miles west of Fort Collins, is being reported as 45% contained. As of the last update the fire had grown to 82,000+ acres, and new evacuations have been ordered for the area. Several roads remain closed, one fatality has been confirmed, and 191 homes have been destroyed. There are now more than 1900 firefighters on the ground battling the blaze.

The Colorado Rockies (27-43) knocked 17 hits, a season high for a road game, en route to their second victory in the last 3 games, 11-7 over the Texas Rangers (44-28) yesterday afternoon in Arlington.
