Now that grocery stores are stocking Halloween candy on shelves (we can’t believe it either), it’s time to discuss the most important aspect of this amazing holiday -- costume selection. We recognize that there’s temptation to jump on the fad costume bandwagon, but take our advice -- the most obvious choice isn’t always the best choice. The High Park Fire Fire is 100% contained at 87,284 acres. It should be noted that "containment" means that a containment line exists around the fire, which fire managers believe will hold the fire within the perimeter. "Control" means that the fire is actually out which, on a fire of this magnitude, typically requires an act of nature such as prolonged rain or snowfall.
Hot spots will continue to exist within the perimeter during the containment phase and residents should expect to see smoke for days and weeks as the fire moves from containment to control.
Fire crews and other work crews will be working in the fire area all week. Citizens are urged to avoid the area if possible and drive cautiously and defensively.
Residents are urged to read the material posted at larimer.org/highparkfire regarding returning home and clean-up efforts.

With help from friends and the Greeley Transitional House, she has pulled herself back together during the year and found a job and an apartment.
Gonzales, 42, moved into the Transitional House in September 2010 with her daughter.
Catholic Charities, a faith-based nonprofit organization in Larimer County, has been working to reduce poverty for the past 40 years. Twenty staff members and 300 volunteers distribute money and services totaling $1.1 million each year.
