D Dennison

I have shared my loved for country music with K99 since 2003 and bring over 20 years of experience to the playground every day. I'm a quirky, rambling woman who brightens up the workday from 10-3. In 2010 I was the winner of the Colorado Broadcasters Association's DJ of the year for my time slot in 2010. Personally I have shared my life intimately with the K99 family through the 28 hours of Hope and I continue to overcome, grow and thrive. I am married and frequently refer to my husband as “My James.” Additional I am the mother of four children, Zachariah, Natasha, Ashley and Colton. Ashley & Colton tragically passed away in car accident in June of 2012; they have now made the journey to another world, but made a huge impact on our community through their charitable efforts, kind words and desire to make this world a better place for all. I miss them dearly, but the work that they did and the lives they influenced continues to impact our "everydays" and for that they will be remembered endlessly.

Preparing Your Pets For Spring — What to Do

Thinking about spring, the first thing that comes to mind is cleaning, ugh! Then we start thinking about what we'll do this summer, but what about our pets. We start eating differently, habitually. We become more active without even thinking about it and make many more positive changes, but there are things that we should do for our pets too. It's time to prepare your pets for spring.

Spring Break Makes Me? [POLL]

When all of my kids were little spring break didn't mean to me what it seemed like it meant to everyone else. Spring break for me was hard, extra babysitting dollars were spent and the food budget went through the roof. We never went on family vacations in the beginning, it was just too costly. Of course I would do other thing's to make it special. We'd have more family time, more games, favorite meals and movie marathons. So I'm curious, what does spring break make you feel?

Recipe Rescue: Corned Beef and Cabbage — Yes or No?[VIDEO]

Happy St. Patrick's Day! And the foodie in me is screaming. I have tried this popular dish and can't wrap my mind around why anyone would eat it; this comes from a woman who has actually tried octopus 5 times before throwing in the towel and saying I don't like it. I like beef, I love cabbage and potatoes... I just can't do corned beef and cabbage, so for me it's a heck no and thank you anyway!

K99 Goes Rogue Crazy With Ehrlich Nissan and $1,000 Cash

It's no secret, we all have a little wild in us. Just waking up with the Good Morning Guys, hanging out with me during your work day (as I try to get you to dance around your desk or stand on your head), and driving home with Charley Barnes should be proof enough of that. But now, we've cranked up the crazy and are going Rouge with Ehrlich Nissan. Picture it as a giant game of hide and seek, Olly Olly Oxen Free!

Popular Northern Colorado Trail Will Not Open This Year

As the weather continues to warm and the sun sets later and later, we get the itch. The itch to get out and enjoy this beautiful state we call Colorado. Fishing, boating and hiking. Okay, some could argue that fishing can happen anytime, especially if you're a diehard fisherman, but there's something magical about sunset fishing after a hard day's work (with temperatures above freezing). Hiking is similar to fishing in that you can do it year round, but some trails are just not accessible in the winter months. Spring opens the door for new hiking adventures, but this year, one very popular trail, Young Gulch Trail, will not be opening this year.

French Fries Aren’t the Only Things Making Us Fatter

Since the '60s Americans have increasingly been bulking up. The average American today weighs about 24 pounds heavier than they did in 1960. The typical woman today weighs 164 pounds and men, statistically, weigh 194 pounds. The 'growing' population has led to larger seats on airplanes, trains, hospital beds and coffins; yet most Americans believe that they and their children are at a healthy weight.
