Beano

I was born and bred here in Colorado. I grew up in Longmont, graduated from Colorado State University in Fort Collins back in 2003, (Go Rams!) and have been working in radio here ever since. I have a wonderful wife, two pembroke welsh corgis, and a daughter that came into this world in 2012. I love being a part of this Northern Colorado community and all that it has to offer. I have a penchant for hot wings, scooters, super heroes and all things ‘geeky.’ But I'll try just about anything to keep life exciting. (Except for seafood. Never liked it, never will.) Words to live by: "If you can laugh at yourself, you'll never cease to be amused.”

Old Town Fort Collins Holiday Lights In Jeopardy, Are They Worth The Cost? [POLL]

I think we can all agree that the holiday lights that get hung in Old Town Fort Collins  are beautiful. Even if you ‘bah-humbug’ the Christmas season, you have to admit that those lights give a magical feel to the area.

But are all those pretty lights worth $75,000? Without funding there might be no lights in Old Town this Christmas.

Patricia Waller’s "Broken Heroes" Art Exhibit Stirring Up Controversy [POLL]

49-year-old artist Patricia Waller is causing some controversy with her latest exhibit. The German knitter has depicted many of your childhood animated favorites dying, committing suicide or being killed in pretty graphic, pretty gruesome ways.

Ever imagined a crocheted SpongeBob-suicide bomber? Winnie the Pooh in a noose? Or a Hello Hara-Kiri Kitty?

I Call It ‘Soda’ You Call It ‘Pop’, What’s The Correct Term? [POLL]

Apparently the idea of calling your fizzy carbonated beverages ‘soda’ or ‘pop’ is a fairly galvanizing topic. Listeners took to Facebook claiming one or the other was the ‘right’ thing to call it this afternoon.

So, I created 99.9 the Point’s ‘official’ poll to decide the proper terminology. Take it below.

Colorado State Patrol Tells Street Racers ‘Take It To The Track’

Street racing is illegal and can be very dangerous, but doesn’t seem to stop thousands of teen drivers with a need for speed from doing it.

The Colorado State Patrol is now inviting those speed demons to “take it to the track” and race legally at Bandimere Speedway, instead of doing it in on public Colorado streets.

Brewery Shuttle Service Debuts in Fort Collins

The idea of visiting all of Fort Collins’ breweries in an afternoon always sounds so tempting, but the idea of so many people drinking beers and then driving between breweries is not the best idea in the world.

However, good news is afoot! Starting today two new brewery service shuttles begin operation in Fort Collins!

CSU football coach Jim McElwain has some drama to deal with already. Broncos Sign Former CSU QB Caleb Hanie to Back Up Manning

I always wished things had panned better out for Bradlee Van Pelt, he was fun to watch. I was excited when he was signed by the Denver Broncos, but things didn’t work out as Van Pelt was playing in in the United Kingdom for the Leicester Falcons last year (I don’t see his name on the roster now).

But another former Colorado State University quarterback will get his shot with the Broncos and be the guy backing up Payton Manning.
