Ashley Doolittle’s Killer Allegedly Shot Her Out of Anger
All of Northern Colorado knows the tragic story. Ashley Doolittle, a bright star in the horse world, in her family's world, in the Berthoud and the Boulder County Fair and Rodeo Royalty communities, was found dead in Tanner Flores' pickup on Friday in Mesa County.
According to the Grand Junction Sentinel:
“During (an interview with law enforcement) Tanner admits to … shooting Ashley in the head twice because he is angry with her,” the report said. “The shooting took place near Carter Lake in unincorporated Larimer County, Colorado.”
Carter Lake is about 10 miles from Lon Hagler Reservoir where Doolittle’s car was reportedly found.
At the request of Larimer County officials, Mesa County Sheriff's Office deputies and other personnel located the truck, recovered the body and took Flores into custody. He's expected to be moved to Larimer County soon.
Our prayers to both families at this unimaginable time...
