The state of Colorado has enjoyed unseasonably warm temperatures through November and December. But that's all about to change this weekend.

According to Denver 7 KMGH, a mild start to the workweek will lead to arctic temperatures as you start the long holiday weekend and even when Santa delivers his presents on Sunday night.

First, we could possibly see some significant snow on Thursday with highs only in the 20's. This could definitely be the first significant snow we have seen in Northern Colorado since October, and it will be very welcome!

However, Saturday and Sunday is where we could really feel the brunt of the transition from fall to winter.

Denver 7 says that we may only see highs in the TEENS both Saturday and Sunday, with lows near or below zero at night.

So Santa better bundle up when he gets to Colorado, and make sure you leave him some hot cocoa to help him get to his next stop!
