Another Life Lesson Taught to Me by a 4-Year-Old – Brian’s Blog

I am so lucky to have grandchildren at home to teach me what life is all about. I so often get caught up in the rat race that I need to step back and prioritize life. The little ones help me do that. Adult companionship is very overrated. The mind of a child is unpolluted and innocent.

I was having a tough day yesterday. I was feeling sick and work had my mind spinning and was just not feeling it, if you know what I mean. Late in the afternoon I heard my grandson Zander start to cough and sneeze, his eyes were starting to water and his nose was bleeding from blowing it. I told Zander I was so sorry he wasn't feeling well. He said "papa, do you know what's good about getting sick? It's how good it feels when you get better." I just melted into a puddle. This little boy just showed me the most beautiful perspective on life once again. I have learned more from this child than I will ever be able to teach him. Thank you Zander. I am so blessed to have you.
