Annual Veterans Stand Down Friday in Fort Collins

The Annual Veterans Stand Down will be held on Friday, October 17, 2014, at The Mission, 460 Linden Center Drive in Ft Collins, from 9:00a.m.- Noon. The Stand Down is for all homeless veterans in the Larimer-Weld Counties area.

Here is what will be offered:

• The Mission will serve a hot meal at noon.

• Services include flu and pneumonia vaccinations, haircuts, health screening for hepatitis C, oral screenings, and mental health counseling from the Veterans Administration.

• Employment services will be provided by Veteran Employment Specialists from the Larimer and Weld County Workforce Centers.

• Many volunteer groups will also be on hand to help veterans.

• Clothing or a voucher for clothing will also be available.

• The Larimer County Veterans Service Office will be available to help homeless veterans with VA claims.

• The Larimer Department of Human Services, Social Security Administration and others government services will be present to provide information about what they offer.
