Air Force Maj. Walter D. Gray - Died August 8, 2012 Serving During Operation Enduring Freedom. Age 38, of Conyers, Ga.; assigned to 13th Air Support Operations Squadron, Fort Carson, Colo.; died Aug. 8 in Sarkowi, Afghanistan, of wounds caused by a suicide bomb attack.

Army Command Sgt. Kevin J. Griffin - Died August 8, 2012 Serving During Operation Enduring Freedom. Age 45, of Laramie, Wyo.; Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Carson, Colo.; died Aug. 8 in Sarkowi, Afghanistan, of wounds caused by a suicide bomb attack.

Army Maj. Thomas E. Kennedy - Died August 8, 2012 Serving During Operation Enduring Freedom. Age 35, of West Point, N.Y.; assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Carson, Colo.; died Aug. 8 in Sarkowi, Afghanistan, of wounds caused by a suicide bomb attack.

Army Master Sgt. Gregory R Trent - Died August 8, 2012 Serving During Operation Enduring Freedom. Age 38, of Norton, Mass.; assigned to 4th Battalion, 3rd Special Forces Group (Airborne), Fort Bragg, N.C.;died Aug. 8 at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Md., from wounds suffered July 31 in Baktabad, Afghanistan, caused by small-arms fire.

Navy Hospital Corpsman 3rd Class Clayton R. Beauchamp - Died August 7, 2012 Serving During Operation Enduring Freedom. Age 21, of Weatherford, Texas; assigned to 1st Battalion, 1st Marines, 1st Marine Division (Forward), I Marine Expeditionary Force (Forward), Camp Pendleton, Calif.; died Aug. 7 in Shaban district, Afghanistan, of wounds caused by an improvsed explosive device.

Army Spc. Ethan J. Martin - Died August 7, 2012 Serving During Operation Enduring Freedom. Age 22, of Lewiston, Idaho; assigned to 1st Squadron, 40th Cavalry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team (Airborne), 25th Infantry Division, Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska; died Aug. 7 in Koragay, Afghanistan, of wounds caused by small-arms fire.

Marine Cpl. Daniel L. Linnabary II - Died August 6, 2012 Serving During Operation Enduring Freedom. Age 23, of Hubert, N.C.; assigned to 2nd Tank Battalion, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Lejeune, N.C.; died Aug. 6 in Helmand province, Afghanistan, while conducting combat operations.
