A Tribute to Keith Whitley Who Would Have Been 60 Today [VIDEO]

I was on the air the day Keith Whitley died in 1989. I remember it so well. He was just becoming a superstar. He was the new voice of pure country. Keith had the brightest future you could imagine and then he drank it all away. It is such a tragedy. Although Keith was only with us for a short time he influenced so many of today's artists.

Keith was born on this date in 1955 in Sandy Hook, Kentucky. We can only imagine how many hits he would have had if he wouldn't have fell victim to the bottle. Here are few of my favorites from one of the best singers to ever grace the format.
