A Reminder to Check the Expiration Dates in Your Medicine Cabinet

This was a big cleanup weekend at our home. We cleaned the garage and just recently went through the spice cabinet and the medicine cabinet and threw out all the expired items. I was shocked at how many containers of cinnamon I had. I may not have to buy more cinnamon until 2023. I also found that I must have purchased the bags you use to cook turkeys in every Thanksgiving for the past decade. If you need a sack to cook your poultry in, I have several boxes of them.

We were just hitting the medicine cabinet when my daughter got back from the lake with the kids and had a bit of a sunburn. I said I had some ointment in the closet that should give a little pain relief. I pulled to bottle out and thought to myself, "boy this stuff seems like it has been in here since my kids were kids" so I checked the date on the bottom. This stuff expired in 1996. That is 19 years ago! Bill Clinton was in office when it EXPIRED!

Do yourself a favor and go through your cabinets and check the expiration dates. I must admit that I was terrified to read the milk jug after seeing how old the pain ointment was.
