A Personal Thank You to Nurses on International Nurses Day – Brian’s Blog

Today is International Nurses Day. Today is the day chosen by the International Council of Nurses for this special day because it is also the birth date of Florence Nightingale. I have the utmost respect for our nurses and wish all of our fine nurses a very special day today.

I have had so many medical procedures in my lifetime and have needed the expertise, kindness and caring of these fine folks countless times and they have always been there for me. You have listened to me complain, held my hand and offered comfort when I needed it. You have helped heal me and helped inform my family what to expect from me. You have been the person who really cares for me. The doctors get the credit but I know you are closer to me and do the real work. Thank you for putting in your long hours, your dedication and staying by my side through it all. You are the true superstars of the health care industry.
