As a parent, there is nothing like seeing your kids reach for the stars and achieve what they are shooting for. I have gotten to see my daughter go after her education and then succeed in her career. I have seen my son have great success when he was young in athletics and then see him achieve professional success as well but nothing prepared me for what he achieved this weekend.

Get ready to be incredibly jealous...my son Nick got to stand on the sideline and fire the wiener cannon the Nebraska Cornhuskers game on Saturday. The Huskers won 27-14 over Purdue to stay undefeated, but the big star of the game, as usual, was the official wiener slinger. Fairbury brand hot dogs from Wimmer Meats are known as the dog of Husker nation and my son he was able to blast a few to the upper seats. He tells me that cannon has quite a bit of velocity. Rumor has it when Johnny Carson, one or Nebraska's all time greatest residents, came to a homecoming game years ago, all he wanted to do was fire the wiener cannon.

Nick sent me few pictures of his big day. I felt like I was right there beside him firing delicious tubed meats into a frenzied crowd of Husker fans. My kids have done some great things but it is going to be hard to top this one. WIENER CANNON RULES!!
