Hi I’m Dave Jensen-Thanks for agreeing with US that country music is the BEST!  I grew up in Loveland, graduated Loveland High in 1985 and said “well now what?” With that, I decided to chase a dream I’d had since elementary school- Lincoln Elementary- being a D.J.
Of course dream jobs don’t just land on your doorstep, especially when you’re the kind of guy who wants to stick around northern Colorado . After knocking on doors and calling, calling, calling on the phone, I finally got my first radio job at TRI-102 in 1989 as the weekend overnights guy. That led to being the morning show’s ‘stunt guy’ as we say- and lots of fun. But as we also say in radio “don’t get comfortable” – that job ended with new management in 1990.
When that job ended, I decided I’d get a job that actually paid a little! For 7 years I worked at NCR in Fort Collins- known currently as Symbios Logic. When I turned 30, I said- is this the job I want to be doing when I’m 40?- Kind of like Magnum P.I.! (I Love TV!)- Anyway, it was just me, a single guy getting overpaid working alongside great hard working folks supporting their families- and I thought- Dave, you can do more! And again, after knocking and calling- I got a great job- back at the new TRI-102 in 1997!
Soon after that, I landed across the hall here at K99! I love it here! The music is the best, and the listeners are fun! And like the adage goes- “do what you love, the rest follows” – through my working for K99, I met and fell in love with my lovely wife-to-be Nicole! My brother and his family think she’s as great as I do, and I’m sure Mom would be proud. Nicole and I live in Loveland , not far from friends I’ve had for more than 20 years- that’s how I hope the listeners feel about us here at K99- like old friends.
