Tomorrow is the start of the most important two days of my year. Starting at 5 am tomorrow Todd and I will begin our 28 hour radio marathon to help abused children in Northern Colorado with our 17th annual 28 Hours of Hope.
It was nine years ago today that country music legend Buck Owens passed away. The sound of Buck filled my house when I was growing up. I remember being a little boy standing on the picnic table in the backyard singing "I've Got a Tiger by the Tail" at the top of my lungs.
Today the leader of the orange and blue will turn 39. Happy birthday to Peyton Manning. Peyton has brought so much excitement since he arrived a few years ago and we are hoping for a couple more before he hangs it up.
Now this is what I call a 'fun size' piece of candy. I have been mad at candy makers for years as they keep coming out with smaller and smaller versions of their candy. We have fun size and bite size but I want Winnebago size.
Some say the best part of waking up is Folgers in your cup I say it's a big breakfast burrito in your hand. I love a tasty burrito to start the day as I am sure many of you do but who makes the best? I tend to think that I do.
I have a short list of the greatest country albums of all time. Gary Allan's "Smoke Rings in the Dark" is on my list as is Eric Church and his album "Chief" and another one in my top 5 was released on this date in 1993. It was Dwight Yoakam's "This Time."
I had the most amazing experience on Saturday night. I got to meet Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood! I don't usually get starstruck but this was an exception. I was nervous all day wondering what I would say to him
Tonight is the start of the NIT basketball tournament. The CSU Rams are a one seed but should be in the big dance instead. I looked at some of the names of the teams playing in the big tourney and couldn't believe how stupid some of the them were.
I was fortunate to grow up in house filled with music. My parents turntable was always spinning the sounds of Elvis, Buck Owens, Kenny Rogers, Charley Pride and many more. Charley was always one of my favorites.
