When it comes to raising money for Honor Flight across the country, people do it in many different ways. Jagger Hurraw though had one of the coolest ideas, ever.

Jagger Hurraw learned about Honor Flight in a round-about way. He has always been fascinated with our Veterans, especially World War II and after watching a documentary about D-Day, he asked his Mom how he could help these seasoned heroes.

After searching around, his Mother came across the Honor Flight Network. It was then he decided to come up with a way to help send World War II Veterans to Washington D.C. to go see the Memorials and Monuments that were built to honor them.

So what did he do?

He asked a local American Legion in Indiana if he could set up a booth on Veterans Day and then announced what he was going to do.

It was simple really.

If you made a donation to Honor Flight, he would give you a folded paper airplane. In fact, he had 7 different designs that all flew like the wind. The event was so successful, that he went to 3 other places and did the same thing around Fort Wayne and Hamilton.

The cost to fly a Veteran out of his local Indiana Honor Flight hub is $800 and Jagger Hurraw raised a total of $1,058.25 just by selling paper airplanes. I'm not afraid to say I had to wipe a few tears after reading his story and wanted to share it with my audience as well and a big thanks to Ron Bland for pointing this out to me.

Jagger Hurraw, you just earned a spot on my "heroes" list!
