Sadly, the loss of life continues in ‘Operation Enduring Freedom.’ Since last Monday’s post, we have brought home six (6) more soldiers from the United States Army including one of our own from Denver. Please feel free to share these Monday reminders to all you know, so they too, will remember that someone is paying for their freedom.

Staff Sgt. Liam J. Nevins - Age 32 from Denver Colorado. Killed in Action 21 September 2013 at Forward Operating Base Shank, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when enemy forces attacked their unit with small arms fire while conducting range training in Gardez, Paktia Province, Afghanistan. Staff Sgt. Liam J. Nevins was assigned to the 5th Battalion, 19th Special Forces Group, Watkins, CO.  Also killed was Staff Sgt. Timothy R. McGill and Spc. Joshua J. Strickland.

Staff Sgt. Timothy R. McGill - Age 30 from Ramsey New Jersey. Killed in Action 21 September 2013 at Forward Operating Base Shank, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when enemy forces attacked their unit with small arms fire while conducting range training in Gardez, Paktia Province, Afghanistan. Staff Sgt. Timothy R. McGill was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 19th Special Forces Group, Middletown, R.I. Also killed was Staff Sgt. Liam J. Nevins and Spc. Joshua J. Strickland.

Spc. Joshua J. Strickland - Age 23 from Woodstock Georgia. Killed in Action 21 September 2013 at Forward Operating Base Shank, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when enemy forces attacked their unit with small arms fire while conducting range training in Gardez, Paktia Province, Afghanistan. Spc. Joshua J. Strickland was assigned to Group Support Battalion, 1st Special Forces Group, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, WA.  Also killed was Staff Sgt. Liam J. Nevins and Staff Sgt. Timothy R. McGill.

Lt. Cmdr. Landon L. Jones - Age 35 from Lompoc California. Died 22 September 2013 a result of an MH-60S Knighthawk helicopter crash while operating in the central Red Sea.  Lt. Cmdr. Landon L. Jones was assigned to Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron Six at Naval Air Station North Island, San Diego, CA.  Also killed was Chief Warrant Officer Jonathan S. Gibson.

Chief Warrant Officer Jonathan S. Gibson- Age 32 from Aurora Oregon. Died 22 September 2013 as a result of an MH-60S Knighthawk helicopter crash while operating in the central Red Sea. Chief Warrant Officer Jonathan S. Gibson was assigned to Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron Six at Naval Air Station North Island, San Diego, Calif. Also killed was Lt. Cmdr. Landon L. Jones.

Staff Sgt. Thomas A. Baysore, Jr. - Age 31 from Milton Pennsylvania. Killed In Action 26 September 2013 in Paktya Province, Afghanistan, from wounds suffered when enemy forces attacked his unit with small arms fire during combat operations. Staff Sgt. Thomas A. Baysore, Jr. was assigned to 1st Battalion, 506th Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division, Fort Campbell, Ky.
