5 Things to do at Horsetooth Reservoir in Fort Collins

A favorite activity at Horsetooth is boating. There are plenty of little coves to set anchor in and just drift away a hot summer day. Or spend your time circling the reservoir while tubing, skiing, boarding or cruising.

There are a ton of different areas to kick back, enjoy the view and share a meal... you can bring food up that you picked up at your favorite restaurant, packed yourself or cooked on one of the outdoor grills provided at the reservoir.

There are a couple of beaches that are roped off for swimmers at Horsetooth. The kids love to get splashing and the water is just this side of perfect all summer long.

One of the best hikes and most family friendly is the hike to Horsetooth Falls. You'll find it in Horsetooth Mountain Park, a park pass is needed. The reasonable hike will lead you to a beautiful cascading waterfall.

Horsetooth is a playground for many fish. Grab your pool and see what you can pull out. There is a good chance that you'll find large and smallmouth bass. You will likely be able to snag a walleye or two, catfish and trout.
