Colorado is considered to be one of the most dog-friendly states, and stats show that about 70% of households in Fort Collins currently own one. That being said, it's awesome that so many local businesses are willing to cater to canines, just as much as they are to humans.

During the dog days of summer, nothing beats the heat like sipping a cold beer on the patio at a local brewery, surrounded by dogs of all kinds. Funkwerks is the place where you can do just that.

A 5 star Yelp review credits The Colorado Room with allowing multiple dogs to roam out back by the picnic tables - which is part of what makes this place so awesome! Their Facebook page features many other cute pups who have popped by for a visit.

Maxline Brewing warmly welcomes dogs of all shapes and sizes into the brewery, and even works with local shelters, including All Aboard Animal Rescue, to help find homes and foster families for rescue dogs.

Scrumpy's is another place that not only invites dogs in, but also works alongside local rescue organizations to permanently keep dogs off the streets. Scrumpy's hosts adoption events right on-site at the pub and their patio is extremely dog-friendly for those looking to spend the day with their own.
