The Brown Palace Hotel in Denver is for sale, though the asking price is a mystery at this point.  The hotel opened in 1892 and cost $1.6 million to build.  That was a lot of money for the times and rooms rented for $3 to $5 a night. With the exception of Calvin Coolidge, every U.S. president has visited The Brown Palace since Teddy Roosevelt (1905) and the hotel saw a a big jump in applications for housekeeping by young girls before the Beatles' visit in 1964. Public tours are offered.

A group of investors that owns the historic hotel told the Denver Post they decided the
time was right to put it on the market.
