3 Hopeful Hearts — A Week of Hope and Remembrance Begins

Every year 3 Hopeful Hearts sets aside a time to reflect and grow as we embrace hope and remember, that time starts this Sunday.

It begins with a bang Sunday morning at 8 a.m. at City Park in Fort Collins, shelter 7. Registration gets underway at 7 a.m. This years walk/run has taken on a thrust of energy from the community. The number of runners this year has doubled, proving that our community loves to run for a great cause. There are so many great aspects to this years run, organizers have grabbed a hold of the creative stick and thrown in some cool contests, including the fastest stroller-or something like that! :) If you want to lace up and get in on the action, by the way the weather is expected to be perfect running weather, click here.

Sunday afternoon 3 Hopeful Hearts slows down the pace for families who have lost someone far too soon. A gathering at City Park in Fort Collins is planned. At the gathering families will have a chance to share their stories with each other or sit silent while listening to an assortment of music. The walk will take you around the City Park Lake where musician will be performing all along the pathways. There is something to be said about being surrounding by people who know your silent pain, even without words. It's a walk of reflection and love as families together walk and remember their sweet children, nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters. As a mother of two angels that left this world far too soon, I can tell you this walk is a breath of fresh air for this mother. The world may treat me as if to say "what's the matter with you" sometimes, but when cradled amongst this group, I know that I am understood and I can smile and cry all in the same five minutes and I don't have to explain myself. If you or someone you know has lost a child through miscarriage, death from accident, disease or their own hands please let them know they are welcome to walk and remember. The week wraps up with the 3 Annual Gala and Music Event at the Agave Room above the Rio in Old Town Fort Collins. Grab your friends and enjoy light appetizers, beer and wine and of course the infamous Rio margaritas (additional monies for margs), music and a silent/live auction. It's a time to get together for some great fun and the music line-up is second to none including Willis Alan Ramsey, John Magnie, Liz Barnez, Solomn Cook, Capa Zero and more.
