The little community that houses our radio station has become a second home to me, and I absolutely love spending time there. Windsor has that small town feel, it’s conveniently located to everything, and there is so much cool stuff that goes on here. One of my favorite events the Town of Windsor puts on is it’s Summer Concert Series at Boardwalk Park on Thursday Nights throughout the summer.

All you really need to have a fun, enjoyable, relaxing Thursday evening this summer is either a blanket or lawn chair to sit on. Bring it to Boardwalk Park, 100 N. 5th St., in downtown Windsor, and enjoy the sights and sounds of the 2014 Summer Concert Series. There is food available from various vendors each week as well as the lake complete with water toys and a beach volleyball pit. The setting couldn't be better for a small town concert series, and the bands the town booked for this year are also very noteworthy!

June 5: Soul School (Motown), all town barbecue

June 12: Equally Challenged (pop)

June 19: Face (vocal rock band)

June 26: Paa Kow’s By All Means Band (world/Afro-fusion)

July 4 (7 to 9:30 Friday): The Jurassicasters (classic rock). Fireworks will follow concert.

July 10: Dixie Leadfoot (Rockabilly)

July 17: Euforquestra (reggae/funk/soul), Taste of Windsor

July 24: Rebecca Frazier and Hit & Run (bluegrass)

July 31: 6 Million Dollar Band (’80s)

Aug. 7: Kory Brunson Band (country), Struttin’ in the Street (Fifth Street)

All shows are free and will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Thursday nights (except the July 4th show, which is noted above).
