More than 20 local law enforcement members were joined by about a dozen kids to participate in the annual Shop with a Cop program this past Saturday (December 6). The program that is supported by donations and volunteers allows kids to buy Christmas gifts for members of their families while spending time learning and building a relationship with local officials.

The Coloradoan reported that the kids this past Saturday, teamed up with officers from the Fort Collins Police department, as well as representatives from the Larimer County Sheriff's Office, Search and Rescue and Colorado State University police. While the children had $100 to spend on gifts and were running around the store searching for the perfect gift, many took the opportunity to talk to their partners about life as a cop.
