Two Cheyenne residents are behind bars after leading a Wyoming Highway Patrol trooper on a high-speed chase west of Cheyenne early Sunday afternoon.

Sergeant David Wagener says a trooper tried to pull a stolen Honda Accord over on Interstate 80 near Otto Road when the driver, later identified as 35-year-old Louis Santini, took off.

"The pursuit went east on I-80," said Wagener. "The Honda went north at Wyoming State Highway 222, which is the road that goes by the Walmart Distribution Center west of Cheyenne. They then went east on Highway 210 (Happy Jack Road) and continued east until another trooper was able to spike the vehicle."

Santini and his passenger, 42-year-old Rhonda Bryan, took off running, but both were eventually arrested and taken to the Laramie County Detention Center.

Santini has been charged with misdemeanor possession of methamphetamine, interference with a peace officer, eluding, speeding and a stop sign violation as well as being booked in on a warrant.

Bryan has been charged with misdemeanor possession of methamphetamine, interference with a peace officer and was also booked in on multiple warrants.

Wagener says the Honda was reported stolen out of Laramie County on November 2.
