185 Hallelujah Horses in Fort Collins Need Help and Homes NOW
Bonnie Templeton with the Larimer County Horseman's Association is getting the word out about some horses in Fort Collins that need to be adopted. They were originally taken from the BLM by a 'rescuer" who turned out to be a hoarder. She took more horses than she could care for.
The State of South Dakota confiscated 900 starving horses from her property. They ask Elaine Nash of Fleet of Angels to find homes for them. Over 700 have been placed. But there are about 185 in Fort Collins that still need to find homes.
Please read THIS STORY from 6 months ago when these horses were in danger of slaughter.
Bonnie, Cindy Loader, and a third partner have adopted 3 mares from the Virginia Range in Nevada. They are keeping the original herds together so that when you adopt, the horse leaves with a herd mate. Bonnie says her mare is absolutely awesome.
Fleet of Angels is running out of money to care for the horses. They need people to adopt and to make donations to help them keep going until all of the horses are placed. There is no adoption fee. People can go to http://www.fleetofangels.org for the adoption application or to make a donation.
If you want to help, Bonnie will let you know how. Get ahold of her.
