16 Years Ago Today A Million People Saw Garth Brooks Perform In Central Park [VIDEO]

Garth Brooks has set about every record possible in the recording industry. It was 16 years ago today that he set another landmark. He played a free show in Central Park in New York City that some say drew 1,000,000 people to watch.

It was a monumental day for country music and for Garth. He had many guests including one of his idols, Billy Joel. Garth returned the favor a few years back at Shea Stadium where he showed up to sing with Billy. Check out the video of that and the original commercial for the Central Park show.

Garth is reporting working on his return and I can hardly wait. He is still the kindest person I have met in the business. His success was not by accident.
