At around 12:30 p.m. Friday afternoon school personnel at Blevins Middle School on the west side of Fort Collins called 911 to report they had an odor in the building and 12 students saying they did not feel well. A Hazardous Materials Team from Poudre Fire Authority responded to the call.

When the firefighters arrived at the school they immediately evaluated and treated the 12 students that were feeling ill and started transporting them via ambulance to Poudre Valley Hospital, as a precaution. According to PFA, 3 other students and 1 adult also reported symptoms. It is unknown what signs or symptoms the students were presenting to medical personnel.

Poudre Fire Authority’s Hazardous Materials Team is still on the scene working to find the cause.

An alert message on Poudre School District’s website this afternoon refers to a Wrestling match scheduled for this evening at the school is being postponed.

A wrestling tournament scheduled tonight, Friday, Nov. 18, at Blevins Middle School has been postponed as officials from Poudre Valley Fire Authority continue to investigate an odor at the school.
